Online registration for the 8th Biennial Conference of ACENDIO, the Association for Common European Nursing Diagnoses, Interventions and Outcomes is now open. The venue for ACENDIO 2011 is Funchal in beautiful Madeira.

Since 1995, ACENDIO has been supporting the development of nursing’s professional language by providing conferences and a network for nurses in the different European countries to promote and advance common terminologies, classifications and data sets for describing the practice of nursing. Following the foundation event in Brussels in 1995, we have had seven successful conferences in Amsterdam (1997), Venice (1999), Berlin (2001), Paris (2003), Bled (2005), Amsterdam (2007) and Helsinki (2009).

The 8th Biennial Conference of ACENDIO promises to build on these successful events. In Funchal we will have 53 oral presentations, 64 poster presentations, 3 workshops and 5 keynotes. The theme of this conference is eHealth and its ability to promote patient safety. Other themes include communicating the usefulness of terminologies and classifications, the use of nursing diagnoses, interventions, outcomes and measurement tools, and the results of nursing data collection for nursing practice.
